A Renewed Commitment to Missions and Scholarship

The 2001 Conference on Biblical Discernment will consist of five plenary sessions, two roundtable discussions and thirty-six workshops from which participants might choose. This provides attendees the opportunity to receive over eighteen hours of apologetics training by some of the best in the field.

Star Wars. Harry Potter. Pokémon. Christians throughout America are asking the same question about these and many other expressions of popular culture: Are they harmful gateways to New Age and occult beliefs and practices, or relatively innocent fiction? In this round table discussion, discernment ministry professionals will discuss the proper methods and measures for determining what?s harmless and what?s harmful in popular culture, with special attention to children?s books, programs, and toys.

DIRECTIONS TO CONFERENCE SITE

Traveling West - Take I-10 to Slidell (25 miles from New Orleans). Exit right at Exit 239 (Louisa St.). At bottom of exit ramp turn left - immediately move to right lane. Turn right at traffic light (Old Gentilly & Louisa) - immediately move to left lane. Turn left at traffic light (Louisa and Chef Menteur/ Gentilly Blvd). Go through next light (about 2 blocks) and the seminary will be on your right.

Traveling East - From airport, exit the access road to I-10 East. Approx. 10 miles, merge left onto I-610 (Slidell). Take Elysian Fields Ave. Exit (exit to the right). At bottom of the exit ramp turn left on Elysian Fields. After several blocks you will come to a major intersection with Gentilly Blvd. Turn right on Gentilly Blvd. After several blocks, you will go under a railroad underpass and the seminary will be on your left.
