Bob Waldrep,
Executive Director of EMNR
Dr. James Bjornstad serves as professor of philosophy at Cedarville College at Cedarville,
Ohio. Dr. Bjornstad also serves as the Executive Director of the Institute of
Contemporary Christianity. B.A., Northeastern Bible College, 1967. He holds the
following degrees: Th.B., Northeastern Bible College, MRE., New York
Theological Seminary, and Ph.D., New York University. In much demand as a
speaker, he is also the author of six books. Dr. Bjornstad brings a wealth of
experience to the EMNR Board and to those he ministers alongside having been
involved in researching religious movements and practices for over thirty two
years.
K. Craig Branch is President of the Apologetics Resource Center. He co-authored
the book Thieves of Innocence with John Ankerberg and
he has had articles published in the Watchman Expositor, Vantage
Point, Christian Research Institute Journal, Spiritual
Counterfeit Journal and New Man Magazine. Craig also serves as a
Board member of Wellspring (a residential rehab center for victims of cult
abuse) and as chairman of the Clergy Relations Committee for the American
Family Foundation. Craig is an acknowledged expert in the area of New Age
influences in education, and this knowledge of cultic influences was
instrumental in passing an Alabama regulation protecting children from New Age
practices in the public schools. Adding to his knowledge was the ten years he
spent as a Unitarian prior to becoming a Christian. His expertise has led to
his being a frequent speaker at colleges, seminaries and conferences. Craig is
an ordained Minister in the Evangelical Church Alliance.
Paul Carden is
the Executive Director of The
Centers for Apologetics and has been active in cult-related ministry
for over 20 years as an author, researcher, editor and missionary. As part of
his ministry, Mr. Carden oversees an international network of countercult and
apologetics ministries with outreaches in Latin America and the former USSR and
has brought his expertise to such places as Africa, Latin America, and Europe.
From 1989 to 1995 he served as the Director of International Outreach for the
Christian Research Institute, and for six years was co-host of its nationally
syndicated "Bible Answer Man" radio program. As a member of
CRI's senior research staff, Paul was a contributing editor for the Christian
Research Journal and Christian Research Newsletter.
Craig J. Hazen is an Associate Professor of Comparative Religion
and Christian Apologetics at Biola University and Director of the Master of
Arts Program in Christian Apologetics.
He also serves as the editor of the philosophy journal, Philosophia
Christi. He did his doctoral work in
the Department of Religious Studies at the University of California where he
focused on the historical interaction of science and religion. He is the author of articles such as ?Is a
Science of Religion Possible?? ?God and the Law,? and the book entitled The
Village Enlightenment in America (University of Illinois Press). Prof. Hazen holds a Ph.D. and an M.A. in
Religious Studies, a B.A. in Biological Sciences, and has studied at the
International Institute of Human Rights in Strasbourg, France. Prof. Hazen has lectured to audiences around
the United States and Europe on the evidence for the Resurrection, the
historical reliability of Scripture, religion and science, and Christianity
among World Religions.
Bill Honsberger
serves as the Director of Haven Ministry with an emphasis on reaching out to
those involved in the New Age or New Spiritualities. Bill is a graduate of
Western Bible College in Morrison, Colorado and from Denver Seminary where he
earned an MA in Systematic Theology. An important aspect of Bill?s ministry is
training Christians to identify and respond to the followers of the New Age
message. In addition to teaching and speaking at numerous churches and seminars
around the country, Rev. Honsberger also serves as an adjunct professor at
several Colorado schools.
Dr. H Wayne House is the president of Christian Perspectives International.
He is also Distinguished Professor of Biblical Studies and Apologetics at Faith Seminary, Tacoma, Washington and
a professor law at Trinity Law
School, of Trinity International University,
Santa Ana, California. He has earned doctorates in law and theology, and has
taught Bible, theology, ethics, and law at a number of institutions. Dr. House
is editor of the Journal of Christian Apologetics and contributing
writer with the Christian Research Journal. He serves on the board of
Council for Biblical Manhood and Womanhood, the National Council on Bible
Curriculum in Public Schools, the Institute for Christian Apologetics, the
board of reference for Stand to Reason, as well as various national boards
dealing with cults, contemporary issues, theology, and law. He is the author of
almost 20 books and more than thirty journal articles. He is New Testament
editor of Nelson's Complete Study Bible and the former president of the
national Evangelical Theological Society.
John Morehead
serves on the staff of Watchman Fellowship?s
Sacramento, California office. John is a former member of the Reorganized
Church of Latter-day Saints. He has over ten years of experience in
researching, writing and teaching on cults and various new religious movements
and has provided expert commentary for such publications as Newsweek and
U.S. News and World Report. Rev. Morehead is also an adjunct faculty
member at Capital Bible College and substitute teaches at Trinity Life Bible
College. Prior to joining the staff of Watchman Fellowship, John was the
co-founder and executive vice-president of TruthQuest Institute, a
trans-denominational, evangelical Christian organization helping churches and
individuals meet the challenge of sharing the Christian faith with religious
people and skeptics.
Eric Pement serves
as the President of EMNR. A former member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus
Christ Latter Day Saints, Eric is widely known for his expertise on new
religious movements. He worked for over 22 years at Cornerstone
magazine, and was most recently the executive editor, specializing in
apologetics, cults, world religions, and controversial issues. In addition to
the numerous articles he has written, Eric also compiled The 1986 Directory
of Cult Research Organizations (revised editions in '87, '88, '90, '91, '93
and '96) and is the editor of Contend for the Faith,
a compilation of papers presented at the 1989 Rockford Conference on Discernment
and Evangelism. He is currently attending North
Park Theological Seminary.
Rich Poll is
founder and president of Apologia
a ministry with the primary goal to equip the body of Christ for spiritual
discernment. Rich was Research Resource Manager for the Christian Research
Institute, Rancho Santa Margarita, California, from 1984 to 1995 and now serves
as editor of the Apologia
Report, which reviews and summarizes hundreds of magazines,
journals and news publications to aid Christians as they encounter competing
truth claims and seek to wisely respond. Using the Internet he currently
distributes apologetics information to believers in over thirty countries
around the world. Rich developed a popular freeware computer database
called CRI TEXT. This database was principally constructed from the full text
of the FYI and BBS-FYI research bulletins that Rich wrote and published
in-house while working for CRI. Apologia Report continues in this
tradition providing students in Christian apologetics information on new
resources in the ongoing defense of the gospel worldwide.
Dr. R. Philip Roberts serves as Vice President, Strategic
Cities Strategies Group of the Southern
Baptist Convention's (SBC) North American
Mission Board. Phil?s primary responsibility is to provide leadership of NAMB?s
partnership plan for reaching the mega-cities. He also serves as the Executive
Director of Christian Ministries to the U.N. Community office in New York City
as well as ministries to government leaders in Washington, D.C. Dr. Roberts is
also the resident theologian at NAMB and writes a regular column for On Mission
magazine. He previously served as the Director of the Interfaith Witness
Department where he was greatly involved in the production of the SBC
produced video, The Mormon Puzzle,
which brought him into extensive dialogue with LDS leaders and experts
including, the co-author of the controversial book How Wide the Divide,
Stephen Robinson. Dr. Roberts was also a contributor to the Counterfeit
Gospel of Mormonism. Before joining the staff of the NAMB, Phil was a
professor at Southeastern and Southern Baptist Theological Seminaries and had
served as the pastor of churches in Belgium, England and Germany.
Dr. Gordon Lewis,
one of the founders and the first president of EMNR, now serves as Board Member
Emeritus. Dr. Lewis was born and reared in Johnson City, New York and earned
degrees from Gordon College (BA), Faith Theological Seminary (MDiv) and Syracuse
University (MA and Ph.D. in Philosophy). The Senior Professor of Theology and
Philosophy at Denver
Seminary, he has been visiting professor at Union Biblical Seminary,
India, and other schools. Dr. Lewis was President of the Evangelical
Theological Society (1992) and of the Evangelical Philosophical Society (1978).
Dr. Lewis has authored several books, including Testing Christianity's Truth
Claims: Approaches to Apologetics, Decide for Yourself: A Theological
Workbook, Confronting the Cults and is co-author of the 3 volume Integrative
Theology. He contributed chapters to 14 other books, published many
articles and has produced a recorded course on apologetics. Further information

Bob Waldrep serves
as the Executive Director of EMNR. Bob is also the Director of the Alabama
office of Watchman Fellowship.
He has written numerous articles for the Watchman Expositor and theVantage
Point about various cults and new religious trends. Rev. Waldrep has also
appeared as an expert source for radio and television programs and print media,
both locally and nationally, including: ABC?s World News Tonight with Peter
Jennings, ABC?s Night Line, MSNBC with Brian Williams, CNN, USA Today, Time
Magazine, and Newsweek. He holds degrees from Jacksonville State University
(BS in Ed) and Birmingham Theological Seminary (MRE).
